Summary:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable Department (of up to ten staff) through daily operations to ensure superior service commitment in the processing of vendor invoices and vendor payment. Provides strategy and problem resolution to drive results while maintaining company values. Sets standards and participates in the training and development of all department personnel to maintain a high level of productivity.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of AP staff to assist with problem resolution, balance work load, and ensure completion of work on a timely basis. To include:
o Train, develop, and manage performance of AP staff according to company and standard accounting procedures.
o Assist employees in troubleshooting A/P application issues.
o Maintain accurate vendor records and reconciliation to ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
o Manages travel and entertainment process.
o Ensure proper supporting documentation (e.g., purchase order, approved and reconciled invoices/vendor statements, etc.) exists for all payments.
o Responsible for compliance with annual 1099 reporting and preparation of forms.
o Ensure AP module is properly closed, reconciled and month end reports have been properly saved to the shared network.
o Assist upper Management in monitoring, reporting, or other general A/P activities.
o Conduct audits of systems, controls and procedures as needed.
o Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
Experience and Education:
Some college level work, with accounting courses and/or associates degree a plus.
Knowledge of accounts payable functions, with experience with multiple systems highly valuable.
Strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
Managing multiple subordinates.
Basic Problem Solving and Analytical skills.
Proficient in MS Office, including strong Excel skills and experience with AP computer accounting applications.
Strong time management skills.
Display strong initiative and organizational ability.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to identify process efficiency issues and assist in the development and implementation of technology driven process improvements.
Ability to retain a high level of confidentiality.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
