Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Purpose and Distinguishing Characteristics:
This incumbent will be responsible to document and improve manufacturing processes. Should have experience with lean manufacturing principles. Additional responsibility includes maintaining building equipment.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work in teams to collaborate process improvements.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
Create/ improve tooling/ fixtures/ equipment.
Complete maintenance work orders.
Develop Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Autonomous maintenance documentation.
Determines and implements cost saving measures company wide.
Work closely with Contractors.
Assist in the development of Capital Expense justifications for tool replacement or repair and product improvement.
Plan upcoming work.
Perform basic plumbing.
Perform basic carpentry.
Repair and maintain PLCs and other control circuits.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
Essential Job Functions:
Basic Microsoft Office software experience
Must have basic carpentry, plumbing and mechanical experience
Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers and suppliers.
Must possess an engineering aptitude to design, test and problem solve
Possess a basic understanding of automation and automation principles
Must be able to operate basic power tools
Must have pneumatic, hydraulics, controls/electrical, fabrication experience
Must be able to complete projects/tasks in a timely manner
Must follow all safety procedures
Must be able to follow written and verbal communication
Must be able to work with little to no supervision
Must work well in group problem solving situations
Must work well in a team environment
Must be able to communicate clearly in a team setting
Must respect the confidential nature of the information relative to duties
Requirements:
Two year technology degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of PLC logic controllers
Experience supporting high speed fully automated equipment
Must have a valid driver license.
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. in a recurring manner, and/or for long periods of time
Physical and Safety Requirements
Moderate: Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
Special Risks: Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals, etc.
