Job Description
Experienced mechanics wanted for Bus Dealer service and repair facility. Must be physically able to perform the duties required to maintain and repair light duty gasoline shuttles, heavy duty diesel buses, mobility vehicles, and wheel chair lifts.
Must posses or able to obtain a class B CDL and school bus endorsements within 90 days of emplyoment
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection
Use the forms necessary to perform inspection services such as Pre-Delivery Inspections, Safety Inspection, Preventative Maintenance, and Courtesy Inspection to create notation of deficiencies.
Diagnosis of needed repairs
Using the proper tools such as Digital Multi Meter, OEM computer diagnostic software, Wiring Schematics, and other diagnostic tools to quickly identify the problem.
Contacting and or locating resources that are needed for proper diagnostics, such as calling technical support for TBB, Pro-Air, Braun, Ricon, and MV-1 as examples.
Testing components for Cause of Failure
Assist in creating Estimates and Parts Requests for needed repairs
Looking up part numbers in Thomas Built Bus and Freightliner parts system.
Creating parts requests using the parts request process to send part numbers to parts department for estimate of pricing and or receive parts for repairs.
Estimating time for job completion and relaying information to Service Writer
Performing Repairs
Clocking into work orders and performing repairs in the allotted time given by estimation or rate designated by supervisor
Using proper tools to remove and replace components properly
Quality Assurance
Test all components replaced or worked on for quality and proper operation
Test drive vehicle to test repairs quality and for any other problems that may need to be addressed.
Shop Cleanliness and Maintenance
Clean work area and personal tools and storage
Clean the shop and tools as needed
Perform periodical maintenance and inspection on shop tool and equipment
Any other reasonable request given by a supervisor.
Such as delivering vehicles to customers, cleaning vehicles, travel for vehicle repair on site, etc.
Qualifications
Must posses own tools,
Experience is a plus but we are willing to train individuals based on qualifications and aptitudes.
Must be able to pass preemployment screening and drug test
